Hi All!  So today's Top 10 list is Top 10 TV shows I wish were still on TV.  Now, when I say still on TV, let me clarify.  I'm not talking about reruns.  A lot of the shows that I have on my list have reruns on TV.  I wish there could be new ones.   Remember TGIF?  I used to get so excited for the great shows on Friday night.  Anyway, here are some of my old favs..

Top 10 TV Shows That I Wish Were Still on TV:

10.  Alf
I had light blue Alf pajamas that were probably nikkis, then tysons, and then mine.  by the time they got to Erica, they were paper thin and you could see right through them.  But they were still great.

9.  Seinfeld

I was never a huge Seinfeld fan while it was on, but I do love watching reruns.

 8.  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the original)
I know they have a newer version on TV now, but it is nowhere near as awesome as it used to be.  I bought Mack a few of the old seasons on DVD...he loves them.  heck, I love them too.

7.  Beverly Hills 90210 (the old one)
I'm not kidding when I say I have seen every single episode of the entire series probably multiple times because of reruns.  The new attempt to bring it back on the CW was pathetic.

6.  Macgyver
Who doesn't love watching this McDreamy from the 80's/early 90's make a makeshift bomb out of a paper clip and a piece of Bazooka bubble gum?

5.  Dinosaurs
I bet you forgot about this one!  I loved this one.  You know how every time they opened the fridge, they had to beat back creatures arms?  That's how I feel my fridge is right now.  I have to clean it out today.  Oh and by the way, the voice of the baby is the same guy that is the voice/puppeteer of elmo.  The same guy also was Master Splinter in the real Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movies.

4.  Saved by the Bell
Who didn't have a crush on Zack Morris or AC Slater?  And which girl didn't want to be Kelly Kapowski?

3.  Boy Meets World
What a great show this was.  And what ever happened to Cory's brother Eric?  I haven't seen him in anything recently.  What a heartthrob.

2.  That 70's Show
I know...there is always a rerun of this on.  Nevertheless, it is hilarious.  I understand it had to end...it's a show set in the 70's!  But...so funny.  Kitty was my favorite character.  Especially the seasons when she was going through menopause.  HILARIOUS!

1.  Friends
Classic.  I miss it.  I kind of wish they would do a reunion special.  Kind of.  I can watch reruns of this all day and never get tired.

What are your favorite old TV shows?

After reading this post, you may think...man, she has no life.  Well? You're right.  But I'm so excited about the cute stuff I bought yesterday while shopping I had to show anyone (if there is anyone) that reads this blog.  Me and Macy went shopping yesterday. We met my mom and sisters at the mall.  I had 2 goals.  Goal #1 was to get Mack some new church clothes because he is wearing high wadders (he recently had another growth spurt).  Goal #2 was to get me some new hot high heels.  You know what I accomplished instead?  I taught Macy how to love shoes.

These are the sexy stilettos that I bought for myself...

And then we had to buy Macy some new church shoes.  Every girl needs a good pair of red heels!
The entire time we were in the store trying shoes on her feet, she would lift her feet up to look at the new shoes with wide eyes.  If she could've talked, she would have asked for ever pair we tried on her.

Then we went into my favorite kids clothing store...Crazy 8.  We were still in search for my first goal, Mack's church clothes.  They had nothing.  So instead I found this on the sales rack...$4.

And then i found this lady bug tutu with leggings.

I did get Mack church socks...so I guess I did accomplish part of Goal #1 right?

Here is a new segment I like to call, "Only in Tooele."

Brad and I were eating at the brand new Cafe Rio yesterday when we saw this:

Let me explain what you are looking at.  There is a big huge muscular guy, with tribal tattoos all over his arms..tough right?  Let your eyes travel down to his boxers now...they are Spongebob. Really?  Not so tough.

P.S.  Don't get me started on WHITE GUYS who get tribal tattoos. Really?  What tribe are you from?Lame.

So I've been obsessed the last little bit with starting to do a little more decorating around the house, but definitely on a budget.  I have like a 3 page list of things I want for this house, and it seems everytime I cross one off, another one gets added.  So here are a couple of little things I have done lately:

Macy's Room:
I FINALLY got the butterfly chandelier from Pottery Barn that I have been salivating over since I found out I was having a girl.  I'm loving it.

Mack's Room:
I got him some cute ABC hooks from Pottery Barn to hang on his huge wall in his room...

And he painted a picture on a 16x20 canvas.  He titled it 'Square Rainbow". It's a Mack Brown Original.
I still have to figure out what is going on the other side of it...it's a huge wall.

My new OLD lamp:

SO Brad was cleaning out the garage last week.  i found two lamps in there I forgot I had.  I've been looking for lamps everywhere but you can't find a stinkin lamp for under $50.  SOOO...
I bought a gray $10 lamp shade at WalMart...

Here the yucky brushed bronze color it was before...

And I spray painted it with a glossy black!  OH I LOVE HOW IT SHINES!

And I got some black ribbon and hot glued it around the top and bottom of the shade to add a little bit of character.

It looks way better in real life.  And it looks amazing on the desk that mom and dad got for me and brad for christmas.

Upcoming Projects:

1.  Redo Bigger lamp that I found in my garage
2.  Redo the ugly lamp we have in our bedroom (can you tell I love redoing lamps?  way way cheaper than buying a new one and they look brand new!)
3.  Refinish the Queen Headboard that I bought off KSL
4.  Refinish the huge china hutch we have in our kitchen (this is going to be a huge project...I'm a little scared.)

Brad's projects:
1.  Build my entertainment center (in progress)
2.  Put in Yard/fence/deck
3.  Build shelves and cabinets in the garage

That shouldn't be too hard right? hehe I have a huge honey-do list for him. It never get's smaller.

I have lots of fun stuff that I am doing around the house soon.  I can't wait!
All of us have those certain songs that when we hear them, we're stuck.  We wished we could un-hear them. They are now in our heads for the rest of the day.  We even catch ourselves singing them out loud without even thinking about it.  So here is my top ten for the week:

Top 10 Songs That Get Stuck In My Head:

10.  It's Raining Men by Weather Girls

A favorite song of mine, but it gets a little much after hearing it in my head nonstop. P.S. this is the best music video I have ever seen.  Ever.

9.  Freecreditreport.com commercial jingles

Sure they're catchy.  That's what jingles are supposed to be.  I don't really even hate these ones like I do most car radio commercials and the Les Olson Company commercials.

8.  Hit me Baby One More Time by Britney Spears

7.  If I Had a Million Dollars by Barenaked Ladies

I LOVE this song.  BUT not after singing the same part of it a million times in my head.

6.  Barbie Girl by Aqua

5.  Tubthumping by Chumbawumba

Oh Chumbawumba, how you made my 6th grade lunches memorable as my little "group" gathered around the cool CD player in the classroom and we used to listen to this song over and over again.  And the Savage Garden song.

4.  Milkshake by Kelis

I know...Miss One Hit Wonder makes my #4...it's a song that every time i start to think about it, it get's stuck in my head.  Even now, as I am writing it.

3.  My Humps by Black Eyed Peas

Annoying but yet you can't stop singing it.

2.  Poker Face by Lady Gaga

I'm including most of Lady Gaga's songs.

1.  Whip my Hair by Willow Smith

I'm not even kidding...I have had this song stuck in my head since New Years Eve.  And just when I finally get it unstuck, I get someone reminding me about it.  Willow, you are so cute.  And, I love your father.  BUT, this song is ALWAYS in my head.  P.S.  I have been told I can sing this song just like her...I'm that awesome.

Honorable Mention:  The Spongebob Squarepants jingle and every song that plays on Barney.

What are you songs that are stuck in your head?

So since Tuesday nights are our FHE nights at our house (since brad works monday's til 11PM), I was scrounging for a treat to make for last night.  I couldn't decide between rice krispie treats and special K bars (OOH SO GOOD!)  Well since I didn't want to go to the grocery store to get the stuff I didn't have for special K bars, I decided to make a hybrid of the two.  So here is this yummy recipe!!

Peanut Butter Cup Bars (The name is still open for suggestions...)

1 cup Karo Syrup
1 cup white sugar
1 cup peanut butter
6 cups rice krispies
1 bag of milk chocolate chips
1 bag of Reese's peanut butter chips

Over medium heat, dissolve the sugar in the karo syrup.  Remove from heat and add the peanut butter until it is mixed well.  Add the rice krispies.  Spread in the bottom of a well greased 9x13 pan.  in a medium sauce pan on low heat, combine the chocolate chips and pb chips, stirring constantly (so that they dont burn) until melted.  Spread over the top and let set.

They are oh so good.  Let me know what you think.  Brad and Mack cant stop eating them.  And let me know what I should call them.  BTW, I'm sure I'm not the very first person to invent this recipe...but in my mind, I am.  so good for me.

So on Christmas day, Erica wanted me to take pictures of Cohen for his 1st bday and a few of their family. This is how a couple of them turned out:

This is what I like to call his Popeye face

 Two peas in a pod...

This one is my favorite.  What a cute little guy he is!

This weeks Top 10 List is something very near and dear to my heart.  It is something that I am very passionate about.  Any guesses?  That's right...junk food.  I love junk food.  Junk food keeps me sane (and overweight).  I'm the kind of person who walks into See's Candy at the mall and acts like I'm looking to buy something just so they will give me the free sample chocolate.  And then I leave. And this time of year, when I have tried cutting back so that I can shed those extra pounds my body won't let go of, I especially crave junk food.  So here it is people...

Top 10 Favorite Junk Food:

10.  Spicy Teriyaki Chicken-I don't get to have this anymore since there aren't any Teriyaki places in Utah like there are in Seattle.  BUt I still CRAVE spicy teriyaki chicken.  OHHH MAN.
9.  Cookies-I will seriously eat like any cookie.  Chocolate chip, peanut butter kiss, soft sugar cookies, no bake cookies, etc. etc. etc.  Not to mention...cookie dough.
8.  French Fries-You just keep eating them without even realizing that you do!  McDonalds french fries....mmm so salty.
7.  Tacos-Pretty much any mexican food.  Hard shell tacos, soft shell tacos, enchiladas, chimichangas, chile verde, chips and salsa, taquitos, burritos...shall I keep going?
6.  CHinese Food-Great Wall of Chocolate at PF Changs..  That's chinese right?  Just kididng.  But seriously...orange chicken, beef and broccoli...so good.  What about Panda?  Their Beijing Beef?  Delicious.
5.  Costco Chocolate Cake- have you seen them?  THey are ginormous. And totally worth $16 (I know...expensive.  But....sooooo good.)
4.  Pizza- I can eat pizza every day.
3.  Pasta-All you can eat pasta at Olive Garden?  Yes please.
2.  Burgers-Red Robin, you make my mouth water. or Smashburger.
1.  CHocolate-Almond and Toffee Symphony Bars especially (you know, the blue wrapper)  but I will eat ANYTHING chocolate.  Oh an Peanut m&m's...I can eat an entire Costco bag by myself ( but i won't tell you how I know that...)

Honorable mention-Salt and Pepper Kettle Chips, extra buttery popcorn, any sugared cereal, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, graham crackers with chocolate frosting, and the list goes on. Did I miss anything people?  I'm hungry now.  I think I need to go eat.

Hey guys!  Here are the last couple of pics that I have been meaning to share.

You already saw the pictures of Mack wearing the capes that I made for him for Christmas.  he wears them everywhere. Literally, everywhere.

Here is his Mighty Mack cape...

Here is his Batman...

And of course a Superman cape.

And here is a pic Brad took of Macy in her Christmas dress that I love OH SO MUCH!

Hey All!  So this weeks's Top 10 list...Reasons why January is the Worst Month of the Year!!  I know you all agree with me (unless your bday is in January, then you may be offended.)  SOO here we go:

Top 10 Reasons why January is the Worst Month of the Year:

10. Christmas is Over
9. I have to wait almost a full year until Christmas again
8. I had to take down Christmas decorations and now my house has an echo because it is so empty
7. New years resolutions
I make too many of them because I know I need to better my life, and they are mostly failed before the month is over.  It really makes me feel great about myself. Besides...why do you have to wait til january to make changes in your life?  i think a procrastinator invented the New Years Resolution.  "oh...i need to start losing weight.  But I will wait til January for  a fresh start.  In the mean time, I'm going to gain 20 pounds of the holiday season."
6. Spring isn't even close.
I can't quite see the light at the end of the tunnel.  Mostly likely winter will get worse before it starts to get better.
5.  Shoveling Snow
4. Snow
Can it just be spring already?  the only purpose I need for snow is to help make it feel like Christmas. after Christmas is over, snow is completely unnecessary.
3.  It is just plain boring.
After 3 months in a row of Holidays, we have to go a month without one.  I hate it.
2.  I'm poor.
After having to spend money on kids, spouses, nieces, nephews, grandparents, inlaws etc. etc. etc, I have no more money left.
1.  IT IS TOO FREAKING COLD OUTSIDE!
When it is not snowing, it is still consistently below freezing temperatures. I hate it. It makes me not want to get out of bed in the morning.

Next Weeks Top 10:  My Favorite Junk Food (because I'm having sugar withdrawals after cutting back on my diet)

Christmas day we woke up bright and early (7:30am) to see what Santa brought.  Mack was so excited for his pillow pet!  Santa brought him:  A bike, a pillow pet, a wooden sword, a toy story "camera", amongst a few other little things.  We got him: new church shoes, and I made him 3 awesome superhero capes.  He wore the capes all day.  And he has pretty much every day since.  He tells me that he doesn't need to wear a coat when he leaves the house because Superheros have capes, not coats.

Santa got Macy:  a jumper and two little rattles.  The parents got her:  some super cute outfits.

Mack's "Mighty Mack" cape that I made him.  That is his own personal logo, courtesy of Uncle Kenny. It has mack's signature 'angry eyes'.  Perfect.

After opening presents at home, we hurried down to Utah County for the rest of the day.  We first went to Brad's parents house.  The kids got way to many gifts!  Perhaps the best being a GINORMOUS fourwheeler that meema and papa got for Mack.  It's huge.
 Aunt Weewee, Dude, and Macy.

After opening presents there, we went to my parents house to open the rest of our presents from them.
Macy and Grandpa Bart

 Cohen is hilarious.

And I think Cohen looks like Popeye in this picture.

All in all, it was a great day.  Brad got me some great stuff!  As did  both of our parents!  It was an amazing Christmas!  we spent the rest of the day playing Canasta, eating lots of food, and watching the kids play with their toys.  I love Christmas.
So I'm still playing a little catch-up on my blogs.

So this year, Brad, the kids, and I had Christmas Eve all by ourselves for the first time.  We had a lot of fun even though it was really quiet and low key.  Brad had to work until about 4, so I made Milanesa (one of his favorite Argentine dishes) with mashed potatoes and country gravy.  It was pretty good!  We even drank out of our "fancy" glasses.  We felt pretty grown up.  After dinner, we were going to go to see Megamind, but here in Tooele, it went out of our theater the week before.  Bummer.  The only other animated movie was Tangled, but we had already seen that. So we decided to stay at home with the kids to watch "The Santa Clause".  It was so much fun!  But before we watched the movie...we let the kids open up their PJ's and got them all dressed for bed.

Up next...Christmas day!

Tuesday, January 4, 2011

A couple weeks before Christmas, we had a Christmas party with my family since we weren't going to all be together on Christmas Eve.  It was a blast.
I have always loved my moms tree.  It's huge.

First of all...
We make CUTE kids!!

We made gingerbread houses after dinner...

Erica was a perfectionist, or at least tried to be.

We put as much candy as we could on ours.

We also opened our exchange presents...
notice Reggies awesome tattoo.  He's a tough guy.

Reggie was giving Mack a hug for the present he got.  Reggie's face is hilarious and Mack looks SOOO white.  I think we need to get him out in the sun.

We also had an awesome scavenger hunt for the kids, sang christmas carols, heard Courtney play her AWESOME recital piece, and had some yummy pizza for dinner.  It was a blast!
